====== Amish, Toddler, Frat Guy :: Seattle, Mumbai, Las Vegas ====== I started the assignment with three demographics and three locations: Amish, Toddler, Frat Guy and Seattle, Mumbai, Las Vegas. From these parameters I thought about what was important in each of the person's lives and how those things could inspire difference design parameters. Overall, it was pretty difficult to find parameters which gently "morphed" to fit each of the three peoples lives and some of the parameters needed to be either "on" or "off" making the assignment a little less impossible to make a useful bottle for a person who is slightly Amish and slightly Frat Guy as the needs of each of these people vary so greatly. ==== Logic diagram ==== {{:stanford:sblog:logicdiagram.jpg|}} ==== Parameters ==== {{:stanford:sblog:jacobi_location.jpg|}} {{:stanford:sblog:jacobi_base.jpg|}} {{:stanford:sblog:jacobi_profile.jpg|}} ==== CAD Images ==== {{:stanford:sblog:jacobi_drink_container.catpart| Link to my CAD model}} {{:stanford:sblog:jacobi_amish.jpg|}} - This is the ideal container for an Amish person. As you can see, it is very traditional in shape with a wide base so that it wouldn't fall over during travels in a horse and buggy on an unpaved road. {{:stanford:sblog:jacobi_toddler.jpg|}} - This is the ideal container for a Toddler. Near the center there is an indentation where the child can grip the cup and it also has a curved base so that it wont fall over if bumped. {{:stanford:sblog:jacobi_frat.jpg|}} - This is the ideal container for a Frat Guy. The profile is reminiscent of a woman's body and the base is small and flat such that it can slide easily into the side of a backpack. {{:jacobi:jacobi_interesting1.jpg|}} - This is the cup which was produced with base parameter equals 2 and side profile equals 7. {{:jacobi:jacobi_interesting2.jpg|}} - This is the cup produced with base parameter equals 1 and side profile equals 10. ==== Lessons learned ==== For me, the best advice I can give after completing this assignment is that if you are trying to parameterize something, make sure it lends itself to parameterization. I think my model could have been improved if I had only chosen two different people and added a few more parameters. I did the best I could to provide a smooth transition between the three models but at times I had to make drastic changes which I feel detracted from the goal of the assignment and the class topic. ~~DISCUSSION~~
