How do I post an assignment?
Syntax
DokuWiki supports some simple markup language, which tries to make the datafiles to be as readable as possible. This link contains all possible syntax you may use when editing the pages:
Create a page
First thing to do is to create a link to a page where you can post your work. I suggest creating this page in a separate namespace (think of it as a folder with your name to keep things organized. Create a link that looks like this (where name is your first name):
[[name:Assignment title]]
Assignment Templates
Assignment Template - This page can serve as a template for your posts. Open this page and click on Edit this page in the menu to the left (requires that you log in) and copy and paste the page syntax into your own & modify accordingly. The template contains some instructions on how to use it.
Upload files
- click on Edit this page in the menu to the left (requires that you log in)
- click on Add images and other files in the menu above the edit pane (looks like a framed picture)
- browse for the file you wish to upload
- before clicking upload, I suggest creating this page in a separate namespace (think of it as a folder with your name to keep things organized). Do this by typing your name and a colon in front of the file name shown in the Upload As (optional) box (NOTE: you can also navigate to the proper name space using the Media Files tree):
- Click Upload and the file should appear in the list of files for that namespace.
- To link to the file from the Wiki page you are working on, you can double click on the file in the Media Files window. Note the syntax added to your wiki page. You can also link to the file by typing the appropriate syntax directly into the Wiki editor.
