Marcus Sandberg (MS), born 1977, did a master of science in applied mechanics with a thesis work conducted at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. MS earned his Licentiate in Engineering in computer aided design from Luleå University of Technology in 2005 and the research is about how knowledge intensive methods can be used to evaluate manufacturability during early design. Since 2007, MS work in the Centre for Lean Wood Engineering, in collaboration with the division of Structural Engineering, with topics concerning information management and standardisation in construction for a more effective and more customer oriented timber volume element manufacturing. In December 2007 MS got his PhD degree defending his thesis “Design for manufacturing - Methods and tools using knowledge engineering”. Since April 2008 MS work together with Volvo Aero in the NFFP4 project Whole engine modeling focusing on integration of knowledge engineering, finite element, material mechanics and rotor dynamics.
